The Times They Are A’Changing

“The times they are a’changing” was a great song from the legendary Bob Dylan back in the day. It spoke about politicians, and prohets, and parents and pleaded “Get out of the new way if you can’t lend a hand, for the times they are a’çhanging.” Well the words seem to be more relevant today than ever before. So how do we keep up with this ever changing world? Personally, l don’t think we can, nor do l think we should even try. I have a life, a family, a church, a community that l belong to and the best thing l can do is to serve, and contribute as best l can. Jesus said “Come to me all you who labour and l will give you rest”. If we’re so stressed about not keeping up with the ‘world’ then something is amiss. I’m just trying to find my own sweet spot amidst the clamour of the constant noise around me. How do you keep your peace? Where do you go to find respite? The times might be changing, but what about you. Someone toled me once, “If nothing changes, something will change”. The only thing l can change is me and the way l think about stuff. It’s always a brave man/woman who steps out and makes a change for good in their own life first – even if no-one sees it. And we can’t do it alone. That’s why spending time alone with God is the most important thing we can do toady. Slow it all down, take a deep breathe and “don’t worry about anything, just pray about everything”. What do you reckon? Would love to hear from you.
